X-Original-Subject: Thanks for the Past Ten Years X-Original-Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 23:09:55 -0600 (CST) Hi all, As we close down the public and private gay/lesbian/... conferences on conferu.itd.umich.edu, I wanted to say a few words. Thanks very much for everything y'all've done for the past decade or so since I've been involved at electronic conferencing at U-M. Special thanks and recognition to Bob Parnes for creating Confer II, Jimi Lee Haswell for her help on the MTS side and Zoe Gurevich for her help on the Unix side of administering conferences, and everyone at ITD and the then-LGMPO (now the Office of Gay Bisexual & Transgender Affairs) for funding us for the past ten years or so. Additional thanks to my then-manager Liz Sweet for letting me store smaller MTS conference files on my UM-MTS staff ID long ago. While I'm on the subject, I want to thank my co-organizers and sponsors of these and other conferences over the past 11-12 years, including Gregor Rittinger, Susan Ramirez, and the bulk of the Student Conferencing Project; Suzanne Pierce, for creating the first Confer II meeting that started us off; Sandy Lurins of the LGMPO for helping us get started; all the LGMPO directors and staff; and all the people who participated over the past decade. Public thanks are available in meet-planners 85:176-177 and archival information is available in conferqanda 2:240-241. Happy New Year, and keep in touch, -j (aka jss@umich.edu)
