I was there at the start. We eventually had nine people over
the course of the 70 minutes I was there. I had fun catching
up, and it seemed like others did too. Discussion topics (as
I wrote them down, but not necessarily in chronological order)
included:
- Cast figurines in sex postions
- Weather, home heating, and gas versus electric heat
- PG&E billing individuals for the whole building
- Replacing appliances that are dying or have died
- Anxiety and medications
- Sleep cycles and nightmares (especially about work for
retired people)
- Sexism (women not being listened to)
- Show and tell: Waxed amarylis, tulip paintings, fake
tulips, origami boxes with flowers, etc.
- Moliation, demolition, and renovations
- Viewing Oscar-nominated films (in preparation for voting)
- Movie viewing in theaters
- Binging old television shows (specifically Northern
Exposure)
- Losing words, aphasia, and possible mental decline
- Wordle, Letterbox, and other word games
- Thruples on the Drew Barrymore Show
- International travel and visiting at intermediate airports
- Living in a city where there was or will be an Olympics
- Attending the Oscars in person ($1,000/person tickets
unless you're a nominee)
- Award shows... and connections to the film and music
industries
- Streaming replacing cable and satellite services
- Long-distance significant others
- Pets, rescue animals, stuffed animals, allergies, and
medication
- T-shirts
