My DOB is 3/29/78.

I lived in Springfield, Illinois for 19 years, and moved to California (Bay Area) in June 1997 where I currently reside.

I have brown hair, blue-grey eyes, and I'm 5'11".

I used to frequent EfNet and OpenProjects IRC. I hang out on the irc.gimp.net now where I can sometimes be found idling and chatting about mono-relating things as "syke".

Musically, I like: Duran Duran, Mindless Self Indulgence, Kinky, Blur, Psykosonik, The Lemonheads, Weird Al Yankovic, Elastica, Beck, Lou Reed (with or without The Velvet Underground), Pop Will Eat Itself, Neurotic Outsiders, Cobra Starship, Moody Blues, Iggy Pop, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, The Clash, Frank Zappa, Danny Elfman, Mark Mothersbaugh/Devo, Magnetic Fields, MGMT, etc.

My favorite movies: Strange Brew, My Own Private Idaho, Three to Get Ready, UHF, Where the Day Takes You, London Kills Me, The Dark Crystal, Halloween, Happiness, L.A. Confidential, Saving Private Ryan, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Blazing Saddles, Eyes Wide Shut, Hudsucker Proxy, Full Metal Jacket, Fargo, The Man Who Came To Dinner, The Big Lebowski, Requiem for a Dream, The Man Who Wasn't There, The Jerk, Fight Club, Hairspray, Polyester, Wargames, Sneakers, Little Shop of Horrors, Clerks, Chasing Amy, The Maltese Falcon, Vertigo, The Trouble With Harry, Taxi Driver, Tarnation, etc.

My favorite authors: Richard Price, Dalton Trumbo, Douglas Adams, Ogden Nash, Joanne Rowling, Terry Pratchett.

Things I dislike: contrivance, regurgitations (of all kinds), waking up alone with a headache, repression, politics, economies based on tangible currency, stupid people who manage to get high-paying jobs, people in leadership positions who are unfit, etc, etc.

Foods I like: Spinach, Pizza, Garlic Bread, Tuna sammiches, soft tacos, lima beans, miniature carrots, mushrooms, white chocolate, pecans/walnuts/almonds, bananas, good cheeseburgers, fresh organic hummus, whole milk, foie gras, monkfish, sushi, etc.

Foods I dislike: brussel sprouts, canned fruits or vegetables, Hamburger Helper, Soup Starter, Quiche, Pot Pies, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc.

I attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL for one year where I worked as a loyal assitant to the administrator, Chunx O'Snotman. He kept forgetting to put the balls on the other side, on top of eaten onions. He is living proof that if you push something hard enough, it will fall over.

I wrote a product called BugScan, a binary static analyzer that found several novel exploitable vulnerabilities. I founded a company around it, which was self-funded, and we developed the product in a pure eXtreme Programming process. With a part-time sales person, I took the company to product release and profitability in 6 months, and then drove the company to acquisition 12 months after that for 10X revenue. No time for dilly-dally.

If you are looking for information on my hospital experience, it is here.

My husband (in the state of California) is Geoff. He is amazing.

I have spoken at a number of conferences on security and development process, as well as writing several published magazine articles on those subjects. I also contributed quite a bit to the second edition of Pragmatic Unit Testing in C#. See my resume for more details.
