Josh Work Articles Michigan IT Enriching Scholarship 2021

Hosted by the University of Michigan's Teaching and Technology Collaborative (TeachTech), Enriching Scholarship is a free, multi-day event held annually the first full week of May.

Taking advantage of the remote nature of our collective work, this year, instructors from six institutions, including Miami University, Michigan State University, and the University of Minnesota will present on the ways their teaching has evolved during the pandemic and other national events.

Completely online, and organized on this Canvas Site, this year's overall theme is "Sharing and celebrating course successes and lessons learned around remote and hybrid instruction." Each of this year's three days also has its own theme:

Each day will have a keynote presentation at 11am that centers the day's theme either through a series of lightning talks or a panel discussion, followed by concurrent sessions that further examine the day's theme.

As always, the focus is on improving teaching and learning through the effective integration of technology and pedagogy. Presenters will describe compelling new teaching practices and learning technologies, lead engaging conversations, or review their experiences applying learning technologies and offer suggestions for attendees who might be considering new ways to approach their classes. Another exciting feature of this year's format is that almost all presentations will include students from the presenters' courses, who will share their perspective on the innovations of their teachers. This year more than any other highlights the ways instructors have had success creating diverse, equitable, inclusive, and justice oriented courses.

We hope to see you there!
