As winter break approaches, most of us are busy with holiday plans and eager to finish up our work so we can relax with family and friends. Before you set up your away message and head out the door, make sure to review the following important information.

Energy Reduction

Don't forget! When you come back from the holiday break, double check to make sure all your equipment is plugged in and turned on before reporting any problems.

Building Access

Many buildings will be locked during the break and only accessible if your Mcard has "24/8" permissions (that is, 24/7 plus holidays). All residence halls must be vacated by 7 p.m. on December 23 and will reopen at noon on January 3. Most fan systems in classroom and office buildings will be turned off late Thursday evening, December 24, and return to normal operation early in the morning on Monday, January 4. Contact your unit's facilities personnel if you will need air handling or building access during the holiday break.
