The Subclass field indicates which of the subclasses for the specified class the document belongs in. It can be one of the following:

If the class is Recruiting, subclass C is for Candidate. The document is specific to a particular candidate or prospect.

D
If the class is Internal, subclass D is for Documentation. This contains any internal documentation, such as users guides, administrative guides, procedures, policies, proposals, and so on.

E

H

Any documentation pertaining to HR or Finance falls into this subclass, including HR policies and procedures, benefit forms, offer letters, salary increases, Personnel Action Notices (PAN), quarterly financial reports, budgets, and so on.

I

If the class is Recruiting, subclass I is for Internal. The document is specific for the Recruiters and may be policies, procedures, or other internal documentation for the Recruiting team.

J
If the class is Recruiting, subclass J is for Job Description. The document is a job description intended for posting, either internally (such as on the "Hot Jobs" list) or externally.

L
If the class is Internal, subclass L is for Legal. The document is a contract, agreement, statement of work, letter of intent, schedule A, or other legal document. All legal documents, including those that a client must sign, fall into this subclass.

O
If the class is Marketing and Sales, subclass O is for Offering. The document is a product or service offering.

P
If the class is Client or Technical or X (Other), subclass P is for Planning. The document falls into the SPECTRA Planning category.

If the class is Marketing and Sales, subclass P is for Publication. The document is a publication of some kind, typically in the trade press or a white paper that is for Marketing and Sales as opposed to Client or Technical use.

R
If the class is Client or Technical or X (Other), subclass R is for Recurring Operations. The document falls into the SPECTRA Recurring Operations category.

If the class is Internal, subclass R is for Review. The document involves the review process either for members or for managers.

S
If the class is Client or Technical or X (Other), subclass S is for Strategy. The document falls into the SPECTRA Strategy category.

If the class is Marketing and Sales, subclass S is for Sales literature. The document is some form of sales literature that does not fit into the Ad, Offering, or Publication subclasses. This can include company brochures ("About Collective").

T
If the class is Client or Technical or X (Other), subclass T is for Transition and Implementation. The document falls into the SPECTRA Transition and Implementation category.

X
If the class is Marketing and Sales, Recruiting, or X (Other), subclass X is for Other. It is intended as a catch-all bucket for any marketing and sales, recuriting, or other documentation which does not fall neatly into one of the other class-and-subclass combinations.

The use of class=X and subclass=X together is strongly discouraged, as it may prevent your document from appearing in most searches.

If a particular class is not listed, the subclass cannot be used with that class. For example, subclass J is only valid with class R.
